how to convert .ter file to .stg file for flightgear 1.9.1

Thanks for your reply. My question is how to read .btg files as its in binary format. I m trying to put X-Plane terrain in FlightGear. X-Plane contains .ter files in Windows and FlightGear contains .stg files in Linux. In X-Plane .dsf is in binary format and in FlightGear its .btg. I converted .dsf files into .txt format for my understanding and now my next aim is to convert .btg into .txt format. I want to knw how to convert the file. Is there any tool for conversion so that i can proceed further.

The tool to generate the FG scenery is TerraGear, don't know if it works the other way, though. I am not into the scenery stuff, but from my point of view it seems 'creating' scenery is much easier than 'converting' it.

It is one of the default aircraft in the original download bundle. You don't need to download it separately.

On the other hand, are you the one that listen to Martins replys? I think you should really listen to him because he knows about the scenery. He's only trying to save your time by telling you, what you are trying is very, very, very hard if not impossible.

I don't belive you 'have to', or is there someone sitting next to you with a gun saying, he's going to kill you if you don't convert it. So, what is the reason you cannot use FlightGears scenery?

There is a toolchain here, but no docs available atm (and no english docs at all, it's work done by a member of the French FGFS community)
The same person also did work on using other terrain format/DBs levering OSG functionality.
I have no clue exactly what it can import from x-plane scenery, whether just models, or more. You will have to find out on your own.
I cannot help you further, never having used those tools. I do not know how to contact the author, albeit if you can write French better than English, might I suggest enquiring at the French Flight Gear forums.

Creating a dozend of pointless postings is a problem no matter which board you're flooding. Intentionally posting to a board which doesn't match your topic - even though there is one that matches - is a problem as well. Ignoring common spelling rules is the third one which instantly comes into my mind,

Terragen only comes in tow flavors: Windows and Mac OS. Sorry Linux users!
