Following the long awaited release of FlightGear 2024.1 last February, we are pleased to announce version 2024.1.2. This first point release brings bug fixes and new features to the stable version of our free open-source flight simulator.

A major new feature in this release is the ability to offer future incremental updates to our users. This means we can easily push small updates for which you will no longer need to download the full program. Bug fixes can thus be delivered much faster than before, greatly accelerating our development pace.

MacOS users will be pleased to learn that 2024.1 is now available for their operating system as well. Unfortunately we are aware of ongoing rendering issues on Apple Sillicon. Lowering the shader quality settings and/or disabling “Atmospheric Light Scattering” in the View > Rendering Options dialog can help.
